CVE-2023-53189

CVSS v2.0

6.0

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:H/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A potential reference count underflow issue exists for idev within the IPv6 address configuration component of the Linux kernel. The issue occurs due to a timing gap during modification of the rs timer timeout, potentially leading to the addrconf rs timer() callback function being executed and releasing idev without a valid reference. This can result in a refcount underflow. The vulnerability is related to the addrconf mod rs timer() function and the rs timer within the idev structure.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
