CVE-2022-50269

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A memory leak was identified in the vkms init() function within the kernel's drm/vkms module. This leak occurs when the vkms create() function fails, but the memory allocated for config within vkms init() is not freed. The issue was reported after a failed vkms module installation. The vkms init() function allocates memory using kmalloc(), and if vkms create() subsequently fails, the allocated memory remains unreleased, leading to a memory leak.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
