CVE-2023-53215

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 6.1.0-rc4+
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel's scheduler related to task balancing. Specifically, the scheduler could attempt to balance a migration-disabled task to its current running CPU, triggering a superfluous warning. This occurs when the destination CPU is not permitted by the task, leading to re-selection of the current CPU as a candidate, and subsequently the warning. The issue arises from the destination CPU mask including CPUs from overlapping groups.
Recommendations Update to a newer version of the Linux kernel to resolve this issue.
