CVE-2023-53219

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a use-after-free issue within the netup unidvb driver when a Universal DVB card is detached. Specifically, the del timer() function may not successfully stop the dma->timeout timer if the timer handler netup unidvb dma timeout() is currently running. This can lead to a use-after-free condition when the timer attempts to access memory that has already been freed. The vulnerable function is del timer().
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
