VectorAV:L/AC:H/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel's ext4 filesystem implementation where the i disksize can exceed i size during partial write operations. This condition can trigger a warning and potentially lead to issues during direct I/O (DIO) operations, specifically within the ext4 dio write iter function. The issue arises from an incorrect update of the i disksize value before verifying the relationship with i size. The vulnerability is triggered during the generic perform write and ext4 da write end functions.
