Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak was identified in the UBI (Unsorted Block Images) module within the Linux kernel, specifically within the
ubi resize volume() function. The issue stems from a mismatch between the creation and destruction interfaces, where a table (new eba tbl) is created using ubi eba create table() but destroyed using kfree(), leading to unfreed memory associated with new eba tbl->entries. This was reported by kmemleak as an unreferenced object.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
