CVE-2025-39814

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A NULL pointer dereference issue exists in the ice unplug aux dev() function when a reset is issued on a driver loaded without RDMA support. This can lead to a kernel crash. The issue occurs when attempting to remove RDMA's non-existent auxbus device via the /sys/class/net/<if>/device/reset endpoint. Specifically, the ice unplug aux dev() function does not adequately check for NULL pointers, leading to a dereference.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
