CVE-2022-50342

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A memory leak was identified in the do floppy init() function within the Linux kernel. The leak occurs when floppy alloc disk() fails during initialization, specifically when allocating disk resources. This results in unreferenced objects and memory not being freed in the error handling path, leading to a memory leak. The issue arises because the tag set allocated for the current drive is not freed before jumping to the error handling path.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
