CVE-2023-53321

CVSS v3.1

7.1

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains an issue in the mac80211 hwsim component where short frames are not properly handled. Specifically, control frames, such as ACK frames, are shorter than expected and can lead to invalid memory access if passed through userspace components like wmediumd. This occurs because the system requires a full 3-address header for these frames, which is not present in the short frames.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
