CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 6.2.0-rc1+ #4
Description A flaw was discovered in the Linux kernel's NTFS3 implementation within the ni create attr list function. The function previously used WARN ON for error handling, which only printed a stack trace and was insufficient. This has been replaced with more robust error handling. A kernel NULL pointer dereference was observed, potentially leading to system instability. The issue occurs during attribute list generation.
Recommendations Linux kernel versions prior to 6.2.0-rc1+ #4 should be updated.
