Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw in the
drm/amdkfd module related to error handling during the initialization of a virtual machine within the kfd process device init vm function. The issue involves improper destruction of memory (ib mem) and a failure to reset a pointer within the pdd->qpd structure, potentially leading to a NULL pointer dereference during process destruction. This can result in a kernel panic, as indicated by the "BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference" message.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
