Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel’s DRM/MSM/DP subsystem related to the lifetime management of auxiliary bus endpoint (EP) devices. Device-managed resources allocated after component binding must be linked to the DRM device's lifetime to prevent resource leaks or binding failures when deferred. Specifically, a second attempt to populate the DP aux-bus can fail if the EP device is already populated. The issue is resolved by tying the EP device's lifetime to the DRM device instead of the DP controller platform device.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
