CVE-2023-53337

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the nilfs2 file system where dirty data might be written to after the file system has degraded to read-only mode. This occurs because mark buffer dirty() can be called for buffer heads lacking the "uptodate" flag after read-only degeneration, leading to a warning. The issue is resolved by preventing writes to a read-only file system and modifying the retry check in nilfs segctor write out() to avoid unnecessary log write retries when a read-only error is detected.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
