CVE-2022-50377

None

No severity ratings or metrics are available. When they are, we'll update the corresponding info on the page.
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the ext4 file system related to inode eviction. Specifically, in the ext4 evict inode() function, a race condition can occur when evicting an inode in the 'no delete' path. This race condition may allow an inode to be marked dirty without a valid reference count, potentially leading to use-after-free issues during the writeback procedure. The issue is difficult to debug and was addressed by adding a warning message to detect the condition.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
