Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the
ismt access() function related to insufficient bounds checking. Specifically, the driver does not validate data received from user space, potentially allowing the data->block[0] variable to become excessively large, leading to an out-of-bounds write. This issue can be observed through kernel logs indicating a KASAN (Kernel Address Sanitizer) out-of-bounds error during memory copy operations.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
