CVE-2023-53369

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel's networking component related to Data Center Bridging (DCB). The dcbnl bcn setcfg function uses an incorrect policy when parsing DCB attributes, specifically DCB ATTR BCN. This occurs because the function utilizes the dcbnl pfc up nest attribute policy to parse nested TLV data, while it should use the dcbnl bcn nest policy. This mismatch can lead to an overflow, potentially allowing the code to access and interpret data from adjacent memory locations, specifically starting from DCB BCN ATTR BCNA 0.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
