CVE-2023-53383

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw related to the NVIDIA T241-FABRIC-4 erratum. This hardware issue causes unexpected behavior in the Generic Interrupt Controller (GIC) when multiple transactions are received simultaneously from different sources, impacting NVIDIA server platforms with more than two T241 chips interconnected. The issue arises from the interleaving of packets from different GICs, potentially leading to GIC state corruption, kernel panics, and unexpected system behavior. Specifically, register reads from GICD I* and GICD N*, register writes to 64-bit GICD registers (excluding GICD IROUTERn*), and the ITS command MOVALL can result in multiple transfer packets over the inter-socket AXI4 Stream interface. Systems with more than two sockets requiring multi-transfer packets are affected. GICv4 is not supported, and GICv3 software model support requires a workaround.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
