Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak exists in the
do rename function when renaming a file within an encrypted directory. The fscrypt setup filename function allocates memory for a filename that is never used, and this memory is not freed before returning to the caller, resulting in a memory leak. This issue was identified using kmemleak and triggered by a simple rename program. The fscrypt setup filename function is called within ubifs rename, vfs rename, and do renameat2.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
