Linux Kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw in the Network File System (NFS) implementation (nfsd) related to handling reference counts during NFSv4.1 operations. Specifically, a double
svc xprt put can occur on rpc create failure, leading to a use-after-free condition and potential system instability. This issue manifests as a refcount underflow and has been observed to cause kernel crashes, as indicated by the kernel logs. The vulnerability is triggered when an error occurs during the creation of a service export (rpc create) in the context of NFSv4.1 operations.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
