High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the firewire networking subsystem. Specifically, a use-after-free issue exists in the fwnet finish incoming packet() function. The netif rx() function frees the skb (socket buffer) which is then subsequently dereferenced to access its length (skb->len), leading to a potential crash or other undefined behavior.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
