CVE-2023-53441

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A memory leak was identified in the cpu map update elem function within the Linux kernel's BPF (Berkeley Packet Filter) cpumap implementation. The issue occurs when kthread stop is called before the execution of a kthread's thread function, preventing the release of allocated resources, specifically rcpu, rcpu->queue, and rcpu->queue->queue. This can lead to a memory leak when updating elements in the CPU map.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
