Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Groundhogg plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.7.3.5
Description
The issue is related to the lack of file type validation in the
gh big file upload() function, which allows authenticated attackers with Author-level access and above to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server. This may make remote code execution possible.Recommendations
For Groundhogg plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.7.3.5, update to a version higher than 3.7.3.5 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
gh big file upload() function until a patch is available. Additionally, restrict file uploads to only necessary file types to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
Unrestricted File Upload
