Description A memory leak exists in the snd ac97 dev register() function within the ALSA AC97 subsystem. If the device register() function fails during the registration process, the allocated memory for the device name, set in dev set name(), is not released, leading to a memory leak.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
