Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a memory leak in the
fs/ntfs3 module, specifically within the ntfs fill super() function. This issue was reported by syzbot, a kernel testing tool, which identified an unreferenced object in memory. The memory leak occurs on the error path during the execution of ntfs fill super(). The patch resolves this by freeing mount options when an error occurs during the ntfs fill super() process. The backtrace includes function calls such as ntfs init fs context(), alloc fs context(), path mount(), and x64 sys mount().Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
