Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the JFS filesystem related to a null pointer dereference in the
txBegin function. This issue occurs when txBegin is called on a read-only mounted filesystem, potentially leading to a read error. The problem was identified by Syzkaller, a fuzzing tool, and addressed by adding a check to ensure the filesystem is not read-only before calling txBegin.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
