CVE-2023-53472

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw related to PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) handling within the lpc32xx subsystem. Specifically, the code unnecessarily attempts operations with pwm->hwpwm, which is always zero for LPC32xx PWM controllers. This simplification removes code that could lead to a null pointer dereference because lpc32xx->chip.pwms is NULL before devm pwmchip add() is called.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
