Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel related to out-of-bounds access during out-of-band (oob) write operations in rawnand brcmnand. Specifically, when the oob buffer length is not a multiple of words, the oob write function performs an out-of-bounds read on the oob source buffer during the final iteration. This is addressed by adding a check to limit the oob buffer read and filling with 0xff when the end of the buffer is reached.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
