Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains an issue related to the cpufreq and amd-pstate modules. A commit moved "amd pstate" attributes from a dedicated kobject to the cpu root kobject, which expects device attributes instead of kobj attributes. While the changed arguments are not used by the callbacks, Control Flow Integrity (CFI) detects this issue. This can lead to a CFI failure, as indicated by the call trace.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
