Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A flaw exists in the nilfs2 filesystem within the Linux kernel. When creating or finalizing a checkpoint, failures due to anomalies in checkpoint metadata on disk previously generated kernel warnings. This issue is addressed by replacing these warnings with nilfs error messages, preventing kernel panics when booted with panic on warn enabled. The patch also standardizes error codes to an I/O error, preventing the return of internal error codes to callers.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
