Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel’s mac80211 module related to the handling of association failures with access points. Specifically, a null pointer dereference can occur when attempting to associate with an access point that lacks a valid link. This issue arises from clearing the
sdata->vif.valid links and sdata->vif.cfg.ap addr structures without ensuring the availability of necessary data, leading to a crash during tracing operations.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
