Description The Linux kernel contained a deadlock situation between the shrink slab and dm pool abort metadata processes. This occurred due to concurrent processes involving dropping caches and handling device mapper thin pools. Specifically, a deadlock could occur when attempting to acquire locks in a specific order, leading to a hung task. The issue involves the dm submit bio, dm pool abort metadata, and ext4 read block bitmap nowait functions, among others.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
