Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak occurs when a gendisk is successfully initialized but
add disk() fails, such as when a loop device has an invalid number of minor device numbers specified. Specifically, iolatency is initialized during disk initialization but not cleaned up during error handling. This happens because the cleanup process relies on del gendisk() and rq qos exit(), which doesn't always execute for iolatency as it's initialized before add disk() is called. The issue is addressed by adding an extra call to rq qos exit() in blkcg exit disk().Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
