Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a memory leak in the ath9k High-Speed USB (HIF) driver related to the
remain skbs buffer. Specifically, the remain skb buffer, allocated within the ath9k hif usb rx stream() function, could be leaked if the USB requests (urbs) are deallocated before the next call to this function, such as during device deinitialization or suspend. This occurs because the allocated remain skb is not freed when the logical link between consecutive urbs is broken due to urb deallocation. The issue was identified using Syzkaller.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
