Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A resource leak exists in the Linux kernel related to
ioremap and memremap within the xgene hardware monitoring driver. Specifically, the xgene hwmon probe() function in drivers/hwmon/xgene-hwmon.c did not release memory allocated via ioremap and memremap, potentially leading to a memory leak. The issue was identified by Smatch and addressed by modifying the code to use devm ioremap and devm memremap.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
