CVE-2025-21531

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 8.0.40 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.4.3 and prior MySQL Server versions 9.1.0 and prior
Description The issue is related to a component called InnoDB in MySQL Server, which can be exploited by an attacker with high privileges and network access through multiple protocols. This can lead to unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of MySQL Server, resulting in a denial of service. The exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service using network packets.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 8.0.40 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.40 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 8.4.3 and prior, update to a version later than 8.4.3 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 9.1.0 and prior, update to a version later than 9.1.0 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
