Description
The vulnerability in the MySQL Server product of Oracle MySQL is related to the Server: Packaging component and can be exploited to cause a denial of service. This can be achieved by a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols, resulting in the ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of MySQL Server. The issue is related to resource exhaustion.
Recommendations
For MySQL Server versions 8.0.40 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.40 to resolve the issue.
For MySQL Server versions 8.4.3 and prior, update to a version later than 8.4.3 to resolve the issue.
For MySQL Server versions 9.1.0 and prior, update to a version later than 9.1.0 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
