CVSS v2.0

6.0

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:H/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel’s UDF filesystem handling. When a UDF filesystem is corrupted, hidden system inodes can be linked into the directory hierarchy. This creates a potential for further filesystem corruption and kernel instability, as identified through syzbot fuzzing. The issue is addressed by preventing access to system inodes linked into the directory hierarchy and vice versa.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
