CVE-2023-53698

CVSS v2.0

6.0

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:H/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel related to reference counting within the xsk (socket kernel) subsystem. Specifically, a refcount underflow can occur in the error path of the xp alloc tx descs() function when the system is experiencing memory pressure. This happens because the socket's reference to the memory pool is not nulled after a failed allocation, leading to a double decrement of the refcount during socket teardown.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
