CVE-2023-53721

CVSS v2.0

6.0

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:H/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel’s ath12k driver within the ath12k mac op hw scan() function. The function directly uses the return value of kzalloc() in a memcpy() operation without checking for a NULL pointer. If kzalloc() fails, this can lead to a NULL pointer dereference. The issue is addressed by adding a check for arg.extraie.ptr.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
