Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the
ndtest component where a failure of devm kcalloc() during memory allocation in the ndtest probe() function can lead to a NULL pointer dereference under low-memory conditions. Specifically, three DMA address arrays (dcr dma, label dma, and dimm dma) are allocated, and their subsequent use in ndtest nvdimm init() occurs without proper error checking. If any of the allocations fail, the code does not handle the error, potentially causing a system crash or unexpected behavior.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
