Description
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel’s IPv6 implementation within the
ip6 output() function. The issue stems from a use-after-free condition, potentially occurring due to improper handling of memory. The resolution involves utilizing Read-Copy-Update (RCU) to safely access device information via dst dev rcu(). This change aims to prevent the identified use-after-free scenario by ensuring proper synchronization and memory management during IPv6 packet output.Recommendations
