CVE-2025-40180

CVSS v2.0

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:H/Au:S/C:N/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw in the mailbox component, specifically within the zynqmp-ipi module. A problem existed in the mailbox cleanup loop where it was initiating at an incorrect array index, leading to out-of-bounds memory access. This issue was addressed by adjusting the loop's starting point to the correct index for zero-indexed arrays, preventing access beyond the allocated array bounds.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
