Description
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel related to the alienware-wmi-wmax driver. Specifically, a NULL pointer dereference can occur in sleep handlers on devices that do not have the Alienware Command Center (AWCC) interface initialized. The issue arises because the code attempts to dereference a pointer (
awcc) without first verifying that it has been properly initialized. This can lead to system instability or crashes.Recommendations
