CVE-2025-40242

CVSS v2.0

6.0

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:H/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a race condition within the gdlm put lock() function. Specifically, a small time window exists where the DFL UNMOUNT flag is set, but the lockspace has not yet been released. During this window, the Distributed Lock Manager (DLM) may still call gdlm ast() and gdlm bast(), potentially leading to dereferencing freed glock objects. The issue is addressed by ensuring the glock is only freed after the lockspace has been fully released.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
