Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the Linux kernel related to the regmap/slimbus component. A correction was made to the bus context pointer used in regmap initialization calls, specifically within the
devm regmap init slimbus() and regmap init slimbus() functions. The initial problem was revealed by commit 4e65bda8273c, which caused audio playback issues on certain hardware configurations, such as the Thundercomm Dragonboard 845c. This resulted in a kernel paging request error during audio processing. The correction ensures the correct bus context pointer, which is 'slimbus', is used during regmap initialization.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
