CVE-2025-40319

None

No severity ratings or metrics are available. When they are, we'll update the corresponding info on the page.
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A race condition exists where an interrupt request (IRQ) work item can be queued in the bpf ringbuf commit() function, but the ring buffer may be freed before the work item executes. This can lead to the IRQ work thread accessing freed memory. The fix involves calling irq work sync(&rb->work) to ensure all pending IRQ work completes before the buffer is freed. The vulnerable component is related to the BPF ring buffer functionality, specifically within the bpf ringbuf commit() function.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
