Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A resource leak exists in the MBHC (Multi-channel High-definition Codec) component removal process within the ASoC (ALSA system on chip) codecs of the Linux kernel. Specifically, MBHC resources are not properly released when the component probe fails or is removed, leading to potential resource leaks. This issue can prevent successful reprobing of the codec component and may result in errors during sound card initialization, such as "failed to instantiate card" and "mbhc initialization failed" errors.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
