Description The Linux kernel's Mediatek DRM driver has an issue where AFBC support, added by commit c410fa9b07c3, is broken on Mediatek MT8188 (Genio 700 EVK platform) when used with upstream Kernel and Mesa (v25.2.1). Specifically, AFBC is enabled by default in Mesa v25.0 and later, leading to vblank timeouts and garbled rendering. The kernel trace indicates issues within the drm atomic helper wait for vblanks.part.0 function.
Recommendations Disable AFBC support on the Mediatek MT8188 (Genio 700 EVK) platform until a fix is available upstream.
