Description The Linux kernel contains an issue where spinning occurs in add stack record when the gfp flags do not allow it. This was identified through testing with syzbot, specifically within the mm/page owner.c file, impacting functions such as add stack record to list, inc stack record count, set page owner, set page owner, post alloc hook, prep new page, get page from freelist, and alloc pages nolock noprof. The issue arises when add stack record to list() is called from a * nolock() context.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
