CVE-2025-68258

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:A/AC:H/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw in the multiq3 driver related to configuration options within the multiq3 attach() function. Syzbot identified that crafted configuration options, specifically the number of channels in an encoder subdevice, could cause a task timeout due to prolonged execution of open() or COMEDI DEVCONFIG ioctl operations. Passing a large value for s->n chan in multiq3 attach() can lead to lengthy calls to multiq3 encoder reset(), potentially blocking tasks. The issue arises from a lack of input sanitization for configuration values. The multiq3 attach() function is affected.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
